It’s time for another recycled oldie from the ghost of blog past. I started my top 25 about 18 months ago on my 22nd Birthday as part of my old blog, Double D Does the Movies, but never completed it all the way up to #1. However, now that I’m being forced to write a blog every day by the troll who lives under my bed, I thought now would be the perfect time to resurrect this dead feature. So, on and off for the next little while I’ll be throwing up my old blogs until I reach the...

Alrighty dighty, time for another movie review. This one’s for Cabin in the Woods. Yeah, it’s been out for a while, but sometimes I don’t see things right away. I know. It’s astonishing, right? For me, part of the reason was I just wasn’t that interested in seeing this film, so I waited until a cheap night, two weeks after it opened. I was a little worried because all my hipster Toronto friends loved it, which sadly makes me wary. It really shouldn’t, but I don’t always trust hips...

Posted on Tuesday, April 24 th, 2012 at 9:00 pm by Double DBlog U: The Raven Review
Today’s blog is going to be a movie review for a film that I got see an advance press screening for! I’m excited because it’s the first time I got to go to one of these things. Hopefully it won’t be the last. Anyways, I should actually review the movie. The Raven is quite a brilliant concept for a movie. I think so anyways. The events surrounding famed horror writer Edgar Allan Poe’s final days remain a mystery. I’m not describing the plot, this is actually historical fact. The film...

Well, today was the season opener for the Toronto Blue Jays, my favourite baseball team. I’ve always liked Baseball. It’s the only sport I really got into as a kid. I think I liked the strategy of it, compared to other, faster, dumber sports. Also, playing t-ball and softball as a kid helped. Unfortunately, I don’t get Sportsnet, so I wasn’t able to watch the opener, or any other Jays game this season, which is really a shame since I made it a point to watch their games this year. Looks ...

Posted on Tuesday, December 27 th, 2011 at 9:47 pm by Double DHoliday Movie Wrap-Up with Double D!
OK, ladies and germs, it’s time for my look at the Holiday movies of 2011, since now I’m finally caught up (on the big ones at least). All ratings are out of five *****. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 *1/2 Oh my gosh, this movie was terrible. It was really awful. It was padded to shit, there was no story and worst of all, it was bloody depressing to boot. I gave it that extra half a star only because it had some unintentionally funny dialogue ala The Room. The Muppets **** ...
