He gave me an autographed (in gold) copy of his LP, which I played for everyone I came in contact with. He was going to do a concert not far from my house and I was looking forward to accommodating him in anyway I could – somehow wires got crossed, communication lost, it didn’t happen. I never got the chance to see him perform, but I believe he would be nothing short of awesome. He proved to be a great friend, humble to a fault, and incredibly talented but what struck me then and still, after all these years, what I remember most, was his warmth and honesty as a person. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nobility just talking to him, he helped me maintain a positive frame of mind at all times.
