Don’t you forget about me! That’s right. It’s Birdman, The Skunk and Double D comin’ at ya with another episode of This Week in Geek where we’re talking about the man, the legend, the director that defined what it was to be an angsty 16 year old in 1985, none other than John Hughes himself. Along with our regular dose of news and some very interesting voice mail messages (which Mike finally didn’t accidentally delete this time) we’re going to talk about the early works of Mr. Hughes and how they helped define a generation.With everything from strange Chinese foreign exchange students to computers that can produce super-models and all the laughs and drama in between we will discuss who Mr. Hughes was and the impact he made on the world of cinema that helped shape young filmmakers like Kevin Smith and Wes Anderson to becoming international superstars.
So we invite you to sit back, grab your pixie stick sandwich and your cute cheerleader girlfriend (who you just know will somehow end up leaving you for your nerdy best friend) and enjoy the show. Mike, Stefan and Dave will bring you all the memories from a time when hair was bigger, music had louder drums for some reason and it was cool to wear plastic sunglasses without looking like a douche bag. John Hughes has always been one of my favorite directors/writers
The Breakfast Club helped me basically get through high school
since i was in the outcast/nerd group

fantastic episode, I still need to see the breakfast club, however Ferris Bueller remains one of my favorite movies ever, amazing film, I would like to go through John’s other films after listening to this episode. And weird science, I must find this haha
