#3 – The Darjeeling Limited

This is the only Wes Anderson film I haven’t yet seen and it felt good to get it knocked off of my “to-see-list”. Just like every other Wes Anderson movie, this one is brilliant and has a part where people jump into water. I didn’t enjoy it as much as some of Wes’s earlier masterpieces like Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums, but it had a certain endearing quality to it that made me enjoy it despite having a somewhat narrower script. Wes’s movies are about life and the real people and that’s what I like about them. Sure everyone loves to watch a movie with an over-the-top hero, but Wes’s movies bring back down to Earth and remind you that the little things that we often overlook are sometimes more important that the big ones. He’s basically the polar opposite of Roland Emmerich.
