About: Hailing from Hamilton Ontario, Mike has been a comic artist and broadcaster since high school. After competing at a Province wide Television production contest Mike decided his future lied in Radio broadcasting not TV, and graduated from Mohawk College in 2005 in that field. Mike also graduated with honours from the Comic Book Design course at the same school a year later. As a broadcaster, he worked various jobs at Hamilton’s Astral Radio station cluster, including as the Talk 820 morning show producer and co host starting for nearly two years. In June of 2003 Mike made Mike’s Stupid Comics as an online home for his High school comic strips. It soon became home to a web comic of the same name that continues on to this day which numbers nearly 500 pages.
Mike was brought into the TWiG fold when Dodd applied to Talk 820 as a freelance gaming reviewer, something Laidman was already doing on the morning show. Recognizing Dodd from his many online appearances a complimentary e-mail turned into a fast friendship and eventually lead to Laidman joining the show on a regular basis.
Currently Mike hosts The Untitled Mike & Laura Project with his roomate/girlfriend Laura “whatever her nickname is this week” Thomas. Somehow they’ve managed to not kill each other.
Every so often Laidman finds himself joining Birdman on one of his other endeavours including Review a Day, and The Prototype.
