Birdman… you are completely devoted man. Awesome job scoring that game in the good old U.S.A. Also as a side note, digging the TwIG geek room, you guys are decked out.
Woot great show! Very interested in Twilight now. Glad to hear my selection of citizen kain. I had no idea some of those games went back that far.
Also hope your prediction of a Disney death is not jinxed. You may think Miley Cyrus or the Johnas Brothers but I think John Lassender and Richard Williams!
Very interesting show. Interestingly a show did a special on the how D&D was evil and on the defense side for the special they got a priest from a Satanic Church. Damn those Gym Teachers!!!
Loved how you went from oranges to Comic Book Adaptation Corner. Awesome discussion, I agree a lot with what you guys said and I hope Marvel can get control of these characters soon.
Just played both games on infinite mode ( aka pussy mode for me at least ) Really really fun and the 3D to 2D transitions are awesome. And thank god for infinite mode, I thought I would have to spend 3 weeks playing to beat the first stage ( Just like in Mega Man 9).
Sorry I have sooooo much stuff to say about this. I thought the movie was awesome (obviously is a speck on the giant kickassory that is the book). There are a few things that I wish wasn’t altered.
SPOILERIFIC!!!
1. The Violence- What infuriates me is the fact is how they ramped up the violence (ex. Rorschach killing the child killer) where it was gratuitous. But it frustrates me that they have this violence all through out the book and at the end… the bodies denigrated. I just thought it would be way more effective if they saved up their bloody points and just give this sense of shock to the audience looking at a sea of bodies 4ft deep
2. The Fighting: Did you see how many Asians they fought in the film? That is not related to my problem, it comes with Silk Specter II being way too bad ass. I can understand Ozzy and the Comedian being pretty bad ass fighters but the with Dan and Laurie being the One, your less sure if they have powers. The biggest problem comes from Silk snapping a guys neck and stabbing a guy in the neck. It is not Silks prerogative to kill. They made a big deal with Rorschach changing into the sociopath when he decided to kill the scum.
3. Dan’s Suit: A very small pick but they problem is that it was designed by Sumocker. It was too built up. In the book when he put on his suit, he had a potbelly. He looked ridiculous, showing how much he is past his prime.
4. THE ENDING!!!! I am not opposed about changing it because your right the crowd would be like OMG SQUID!!! but the ending doesn’t make sense. The squid worked for me since, it is a god damn alien, it has no nationality, no race, no stance on this earth. Everyone is like what the fuck is this. We have no idea where it came from but we are all fucked unless we ALL do something.
The problem with Manhattan is that he has a side, even if America states he was out of its hands. There is a connotation so even if no one is to blame, people will think “damn american god”. Also having an explosion without a present entity to blame after the explosion, it just looks like a bomb.
Aside from that I also really did like the actor for Ozzy. He looked powerful and of the prestige but he had this disturbed, morphed, sick look to him.
Can’t wait for Black Freighter and the directors cut. Thanks for the awesome show guys.
Now that my rush for the hopeful win is done . Great interview, I played the demo and thank god I am such a masochist because like Megaman it is hard as tits but it is was fun.
I’m not sure how specific you are asking but It was a pizza joint and it was located on the east side of Sanimonica i that is where he went to college (Dagwoods then)
Clark Pullam@ It is a classic but it is amazing how many people love that movie and yet all their other films seem very neglected as compared to that movie.
That was interesting, I never heard of Greg the Bunny before. I looked up some clips, man I fuckin love Wumpus. He’s like the nicest crack addict puppet I ever did see!
Skate seemed like an interesting game try, I always played through the Tony Hawk games (aside for the last two fuck ups). I’ll have to rent the first one at some point.
Great live show guys. George Lucas has lost his mind but the worst thing about it is, all who followed him either didn’t noticed or tried to ignore it. I think it steams from being the “Star Wars genius” and after going insane, nobody had the balls to step up and be an editor to Lucas.
At this point we just need to lock George in a white padded room with nothing but some paper and a non toxic sharpie. A group of well renowned editors will take said paper and adjust accordingly. If Lucas makes a suggestion to make it for kid friendly or add new Hasbro toy tie ins, said editors will tell him to “Sit the fuck down” and throw a Howard the Duck DVD at his skull.
@Snowball- I missed yours Steve and for some reason the live feed wouldn’t work on Birdman’s. I did see the puppet panel live, that was pretty cool. He basically just showed us a bunch of people who have puppet podcasts. He didn’t really get into details on how to make them but he told us some of the advantages of using puppets.
He directed the audience to this link for more information
Aw, I missed the TWIG episode and Steve’s panel. I’ll staying tune for Birdman’s panel tomorrow. Are you guys going to be able to have your panels up on the site?
